The so-called Cobra is one of the most distinctive integrated bracelet watches to emerge from Le Brassus in the 1970s its name derived from the sinuous, scale-textured bracelet that dominates the design. That bracelet, executed here in 18k white gold, was the work of Roland-Gilbert Gasche, the Geneva-based goldsmith whose workshops supplied some of the finest integrated bracelets of the era to the grandes maisons. The construction is articulated and densely woven, draping the wrist with a suppleness that belies its precious metal composition. The AP-signed folding clasp continues the texture seamlessly, underscoring the bracelets conception as a single sculptural object rather than an afterthought to the case.

The round case sits within the bracelets tapering form with quiet authority. Beneath the crystal, the deep blue sunburst dial has developed an attractive, uneven patina consistent with five decades of aging a quality that photographs well and reads as entirely honest. Twelve diamond hour markers are set directly into the dial, their brilliance providing contrast against the darkened ground. The date aperture appears at three oclock; Automatic is rendered in period script at six. The papers confirm 12 diamonds in total.

This example was retailed on 6 January 1975 by Security Diamond Center, 2003 Ala Moana, Honolulu a detail that roots the watch firmly in the mid-decade American luxury market and adds a point of provenance rarely documented with this level of specificity.

The set is complete: original box, papers (reference confirmed as 5403/341 W), and hangtag. Condition is excellent throughout.
