Audemars Piguet B-Series Royal Oak Jumbo Watch Ref. 5402 in Exceptional Condition

This particular B-Series is in exceptional condition. The case and bracelet are as sharp as the day it was sold more than 40 years ago. The case is unpolished and barely worn (if at all). The bracelet is at 100% of the original stretch and bears the Audemars Piguet name on the original clasp. The dial is in stunning original condition and has some aging and patina typically seen in these examples. As with all of the components on this watch, we believe the lume and hands are all original. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak has been perhaps the most iconic model in the brands rich history and was a revolutionary design when it was first released in the early 1970s. The first reference released was the 5402, which is often referred to as the Jumbo Royal Oak. The earliest examples feature a serial number beginning with an A and typically referred to as the A-Series. The B-Series came next and still bore the AP logo at the 6 oclock portion of the dial. It was not until later in the C-Series that AP moved the logo up to the upper part of the dial. While A-Series is in high demand because it is the first, there were 2000 examples produced, while there were only 1000 B-Series examples ever made.
